Next Stop MS: Hello Fall!!
As we do every Friday, we’ll be traveling across the state letting you know about people, places and events that make Mississippi a great place to live. Today we start this road trip in Tupelo for the 13th Annual Communities Forward & Down on Main Festival, Next we’ll head to the MS Gulf Coast for Walter Anderson Week. Then we’ll move to Jackson for Wells Fest 2018 and end the show in Cleveland for Delta State’s University’s Int’l Conference on the Blues. So don’t go far because we’re going for another MS Ride here on Next Stop MS!
Next Stop MS | PRAC Nature Tots, LMDC Children’s Mardi Gras Celebration, & the 37th Annual Southern Miss Coco-Cola Classic Rodeo
Today were heading to the Pascagoula River Audubon Center to check out their Nature Tots class happening every Thursday through February 16th with Katy Fetzer, Education Specialist, before heading to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport for the 2023 Children’s Mardi Gras Celebration, going down Saturday, January 28th, with Executive Director, Cindy DeFrances! Then we’ll mosey down the road to the 37th Annual Southern Miss Coco-Cola Classic Rodeo in Hattiesburg, happening today through January 28th with April Jordan, Asst. Dir. of Marketing for USM Recreation, Rider Keisner, Trick Roper & Bethany Iles, Trick Rider! Plus, we’ll also let you know what else is happening in your neck of the woods... Next Stop MS | 13th Annual Clarksdale Film & Music Festival & Mississippi Traditions Exhibit's "Artist Demonstration Day"
Today were traveling to Clarksdale for the 13th Annual Clarksdale Film & Music Festival, Friday, January 27th through Sunday January 29th, with Roger Stolle, Commander-in-Chief for Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art, before heading to Jackson to check out Mississippi Traditions Exhibit's "Artist Demonstration Day,” happening Saturday, January 21st from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. with Maria Zeringue, Mississippi Arts Commission Folk and Traditional Arts Director & featured artist, Alan Kolodny. Today were heading to Gulfport for the Mississippi Writers Trail Marker Dedication for American Poet, Natasha Trethaway, Tuesday, January 17th, with Kristen Brandt, Arts Industry Director for the Mississippi Arts Commission, before we stop in Jackson for Opera Mississippi's Voices of Freedom Concert: A Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration, happening Monday, January 16th at Duling Hall with Temperance Jones (Soprano), John Christopher Adams (Tenor), and Smiley Abrams (Spoken Word Poet).
